Before Midnight
On my first watch with Before Midnight, I remember being upset and disappointed (Still gave it a 4 star though)— mainly because they argued, and I knooow it's a very childish reason, but then Jesse is being this irrational asshole OK, I just can't stand mama and papa fighting... it was very realistic, felt really cut-throat, and I think that's what I personally hated...

But now I prefer this under the Before trilogy... The cinematography, the dialogue, everything was very beautiful. I LOOVEE that table scene, a conversation between people with such generation gap, I loved hearing their stories, their perspective on life, and how they dealt with it. That talk about technology intercourse LMAO that was funny. Nonetheless, not disqualifying the other films under the trilogy, but I've just grown to appreciate Before Midnight more, maybe because it made me laugh so much, then cry and piss me off, I think I'll always be annoyed how it ended, it's a bittersweet feeling. The argument scene terrified me to my core. Both arguments had a point, and I see it, but whyyy did Jesse have to bring out that misogynistic response every fucking time, I really do see the changes with the characters. Well, yes, they're already in their 40s, change is inevitable. I really wish the film ended differently, like Celine torturing Jesse so he could come to his senses or something, I don't know.... I'm mad Celine submitted to that annoying time machine story, it was never cute (it was in before sunrise), and it's not like the Celine I know. But like okay, haha whatever.. nothing's ever perfect, their romantic idealism during their youth isn't what it's like anymore, and it is what it is, I guess, “The first film is about what could be, the second is about what should have been; before midnight is about what it is.”
I'll never get over the last scene okay.
But this is still going to my top 4. SMH
