Wow. That was so DAM awesome.
Hoppers is about a young girl named Mabel, who is extremely passionate about saving animals. The running mayor, Jerry, is about to destroy the glade which is home to all wildlife. She ultimately stumbled upon her professor's research called "Hoppers" which allows its user's conscious mind to be transferred to a robotic animal. Mabel uses this technology to communicate the animals and save their home from destruction.
I don't even know where to start. The movie tackles so many important concepts and arguments about life, particularly wildlife, and our ability to make change. It really is hard to be mad when you feel like you're a part of something big. The pacing was so incredibly well done, and the character dynamics was like a fish out of water. Every bit was creative and fun and freeing to its core.
George and Mabel's friendship struck me deeply. Sometimes, we really do just need someone to care. Even if we mess up and feel like we are just an insignificant human being in this world, sometimes we just need someone (or in this case a beaver) to remind us that we are capable of great things. It doesn't have to be grand, we just have to try.
And most importantly, this film greatly emphasizes the need for unity and camaraderie. Every living being have a place they call home, whether it's a small pond or a big city—it breathes life. And no matter how loud the noise becomes, no matter who comes in our way. We just have to remember one thing. We are all in this together.
