Sunshine
Tangina. Gets ko na.
Sunshine is a powerful story that perfectly encapsulates how it is like to be a woman—a young teenage girl who dreams in a predominantly religious and severely judgemental society.
Grabe. Dahil sa pelikulang 'to, I've realized how it's easy for women to be placed on such a tight spot just because of a mistake that people, especially MEN, have caused them. Lahat naman tayo may pangarap, pero bakit parang mas doble yung pressure para sa mga babae?
Sunshine is for those who dreams unconditionally. Literal na lahat gagawin para sa pangarap. An angel must not get rid of her wings just because she chose herself and her dreams first. It's not about what happened or what could have been done or what will happen in the future. It's about an angel who kept flying, who never stop soaring amidst a storm of doubts and heartbreak.
Because when clouds of reluctance came before her, she chose to stay within her own ray of sunshine. Not because she was unforgiving or cruel, but because she wasn't ready to be in that position yet. And that choice deserves to be respected, not mocked.
Patunay si Sunshine na tayo ay malayang mangarap, ngunit ang mga babae ay patuloy na pinagkakaitan ng kasarinlan na mamili. It's their choice. A life worth living is a life you chose to fell in love with.
To those Sunshine's out there, keep shining through! Society may try to shun you, but I'm proud to see you keep that light inside of you burning.
Gets kita. Gets na gets kita.
