Dune

wow that duncan idaho character sure is cool i hope they find a way to bring him back  - finally saw in imax and damn hans zimmer went OFF. i really hope they do a double feature once part two comes put. grieg fraser is a god lol i forgot they don’t even go into the whole “who is the mole” mystery plotline which is sad cause i think that would have added a ton of tension to that first act and would have helped shore up the exposition even better. the book treats it like a whodunnit/ who’s-gonna-do-it and that makes all the names and places easier to pay attention to also wish they didn’t bring up the “marry princess irulan” scheme cause when it happens in the book it’s played as a surprise— you don’t really know what paul is scheming until it happens. would let flo’s performance dig into some depth if you don’t know how she turns out  they also don’t even mention that leto was secretly training Paul to be a mentat! and the weirding way only gets a slight mention at the end. i forget how OP Paul is in the books. like mentat powers bene gesserit training kwisatz haderach genes weirding way martial arts trained under gurney halleck AND duncan idaho PLUS he’s the heir to the two most powerful houses in the Landsdraad and that’s all before he gets to Arrakis
