A Complete Unknown
literally no notes.
jim mangold, you sir, are a genius.
and timmy, hell of a performance. if he doesn’t at LEAST get a nom for the oscar, we riot.
a wonderfully brilliant glimpse into new york in the early 60s with great music and great storytelling to go along with it. there’s really nothing else i could’ve wanted from this. music biopics are hard as is and can easily slip into the realm of “cliche and boring”; this film did not do that. i was sucked in the entire time.
one of the best films of the year. go see it. and then go indulge in bob and his music cause it truly is the music of life.
and before it switches to ‘65, when bob and joan are performing the times they are a-changin, absolute chills with a couple tears.
peak cinema.
