Before Sunset
"I guess when you are young, you believe that you will meet many people with whom you'll connect with, but later in life you realize it only happens a few times."
That glance in the first 5 minutes is my biggest nightmare.
Anyways, Before Sunset feels like eavesdropping on a conversation you shouldn’t be hearing. The whole thing is just two people walking and talking, but it moves so methodically. No score, no flashbacks, just these long, unbroken shots where the camera floats like it’s afraid to interrupt. And it shouldn’t, because they’re saying nothing and everything at the same time.
There’s this tension the whole time, not in a dramatic way, but in that “do we say how we really feel or do we keep pretending we’re fine?” kind of way. And that ache stays with you.
"Baby. You are gonna miss that plane."
"I know."
