After Hours

Every time I see John Heard, I can’t not think of Home Alone. Gotta get this out of the way, how on earth was Griffin Dunne not even nominated for an Oscar for this film, I thought that this is one of the best leading performances I have ever seen, he was so captivating and funny, and put this film on his back and brought it to the success it has today. Not to sound like some snob, but they truly don’t make movies like this today, the Old America vibe, one dude running rampant around NYC trying to get home, it’s just perfect filmmaking by Martin Scorsese, I am not the biggest fan of his earlier works but this film fully changes my opinion on that, I might need to give Taxi Driver a rewatch now. This is simply peak cinema, something that I’m sure I won’t forget in the near future and will be feining for a rerelease near me so I can force my friends to watch it with me. 98/100
