Marty Supreme

Marty Mauser is an annoying little piece of shit who deserved everything he got. Probably one of the most annoying characters in film this year. And I fucking loved it. The film makes you despise Marty throughout the movie but also does a great job at times of making you feel sympathetic with his story.   Felt the 2.5 hr run time a couple times but it was more in a “I’m so intrigued where is this possibly going?” /pos way rather than a “this is so long when is it gonna end?” /neg way.  The last ~30 minutes of this film are literally perfect. Such a fantastic way to end this story.  I also appreciate Josh Safdie sticking to the niche he created with his brother of “dumbass loser you hate is desperate for money because he’s a dumbass loser”.
