Dune

Everything from Hans Zimmer's mesmerizing soundtrack, to the stunning visuals of Arrakis; from the phenomenal cinematography to the thrilling and hair-raising dialogue; from Denis Villeneuve's outstanding direction to the brilliant and powerful performances given by Timotheé Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, and many more prolific actors in this film; everything was perfect. Prior to delving into this film, I was ready to be blown away, considering the high praise it has recieved over the past few years, but Dune: Part One did so much more than just that. It hooked me from the first seconds of the guttural Sardaukar chanting to Chani's final line at the end of the film, all while making me unconsciously thirsty and grateful for water. This film stayed in my mind and in my every action for hours after I'd completed it and I didn't seem to mind at all. So, after all the praise I've given this beautiful film, it's pretty self-explanatory that this is a four-and-a-half star film. I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that brings obliteration. Timothée Chalamet Ranked Denis Ranked 5/5 **31 May 2024 chymp**
