Bronson
this was brilliant. not sure why it took me so long to get around to it!
one thing i love about NWR is how he makes sure our main character is always on screen, and oh my golly is it a treat to see tom hardys performance in this. this was genuine cinema.
i felt completely immersed the entire run time. NWR has always done an amazing job in building tension in a film (ref: pusher 3), so of course the tense moments where you arent sure if bronson is gonna deck the fuck out of someone or not are very well-done and completely captivating.
not to mention the use of shadows of lighting in this film somehow brings you into the mindset of bronson, this dark, dingy sort of feeling that youd perhaps see if you looked into his mind at his lowest— then contrasted with the perfect coloring and symmetry when hes at his peak. just beautiful. gosh and i cant get over that ending scene, my hand was over my mouth in shock… i loved it!
tooootally just in love with this storytelling! color me impressed because this movie didnt just exceed my expectations, it completely destroyed them. it was nothing i was expecting, and everything that i needed.
