Prisoners
damn that hit hard. tbh it just gets all the basics right and even tho it’s just a cliche movie within the genre, it’s release at the time (which i often have a hard time putting into perspective, like with seven) and just a good story line really makes this a great watch. not sure what it says about the genre or movie making in general today that a movie that just gets the basics right can go a long way. like a 3.8 maybe is fitting but any score over 4? really? just the landscape today ig.
also, denis fs thinks he’s him with that ending. at least show me him getting out. i needed that. we all needed that. after what he just put us through.
justice for paul dano, but tbh those contraptions were decently innovative. guy should be making bank as a carpenter.
and the cause of that dilemma at the end. is it his misinterpretation of the wife’s expectations, or is she forcing her own ideals onto her husband to feel safer? either that was a stupid red pill, ironically emotive, choice that shouldn’t have happened in the first place.
i wonder if the girls felt safer in the rv van with paul. one would think so. that guy can’t hurt a fly
