Sentimental Value

don’t know if it’s down to spending only 18 years on this earth, or the fact that i’m yet to be even an amateur cinephile, but i don’t believe i’ve ever seen a film achieve what this piece of cinema continuously illustrates through 2 hrs. tbh, i didn’t feel like one big ball of sadness and heartbreak at the end of it, although i completely understand those who might. it all felt even more convoluted and meticulous than that. just pure bewilderment and rawness overcame me. anyway, did a double take when they showed young stellan bc i was fully convinced that was alexander. but fr give him and renate the oscar over everyone else (granted i haven’t watched hamnet attow). elle fanning is so good at her job by feeling like such an imposter for the viewer by just being there asw. just an obnoxious american to crash the somber european atmosphere. (on a separate note, why is it acc so hard to find a poster with only the trio? like who invited elle fanning to the function???? whoever makes these posters need to give what the people want) did i mention how much i dislike rachel kemp?
