obviously way better the nth time watching but now as an adult. ibr judy would never have gotten off so easy if she made that speech in the real world. while this is obviously utopian (judging by the nomenclature), there are some deep levels that this reaches in terms of prejudice and the need for a unification of the people. but also some grievances. one, nick shouldn’t have become a cop most likely because it went against his entire previous mantra of living on the edge of the system and ironically he made the most impact in that phase. two, is chief bogo meant to be the stephen from django: unchained? like a latino that votes for trump? how can so much prejudice be spewed out by a poorly educated animal and he have no reaction whatsoever, and rather than just stuff his feelings down, he actually ENDORSES her xenophobia and paranoia to be the face of the city. surprised there were no consequences for him. that really was annoying. unless buffalo aren’t predators, but i swear they are…
