Kill Bill: Vol. 1
Hits even harder on a rewatch, mind bogglingly amazing, straight up eye candy.
Tarantino is such a legend, his filmography is just flawless. After watching more films since my first watch of Kill Bill I feel like I get to fully appreciate the genius that went behind the film.
Every scene is just amazingly crafted, utter perfection for the whole run time, it’s almost stupid. The cinematography combined with the colors of each scene is just.. unbelievable I can’t even explain it. It’s films like these that make me want to be a director when I’m older. Drawing inspiration from the Good the Bad and the Ugly, among other highly influential pieces of cinema; it’s clear that Kill Bill is an ode to the love of cinema and the art of revenge.
I don’t even know where to start with the plot, such a beautiful revenge story. It’s nuanced and devastating theme of loss is so compellingly put onto the screen. Behind the gore and pizzaz of the fight scenes and the film in general, it creates the heart of the Kill Bill, separating it from just a regular revenge story to something way different.
