The Player

First Altman if you don’t count the time I watched MASH when I was like 10. I’m so glad I picked this movie — I can’t stop grinning!! I mean, what a MOVIE!! I was very anxious throughout this whole film. Honestly, it made me more sick to my stomach than 90% of thriller/horror movies. Every time this movie had me start to think about AI and how every creative enterprise is now basically just silicon valley, it sucked me in with beautiful movie magic!! It’s just so FUNNY (it was so fun guessing which actors were playing themselves or were fictional), so smart (though i think 80% of the references went over my head) , so beautiful (the colors! the outfits! everything!), and I couldn’t stop looking at Tim Robbins’ eyes. He seriously has the craziest eyes i’ve ever seen. He made me feel such sympathy for him while also hating him and being soooo terrified of him. The whole final 30 minutes… it’s just perfect. Maybe my favorite ending ever?  The entire time I was just reminded that I’m just a big old sucker. Altman had me in his sweet beautiful hands the entire time. What fun!
