Ocean Waves

While heavily criticized, many referring to this film as the “weakest” from Studio Ghibli, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s complicated, it’s messy, and not many films are willing to dig deep into complicated relationships. While beautiful and aesthetically pleasing, its story is just as interesting, even if it’s not pretty all of the time. It’s much more grounded amongst the many fantastical and mystical releases prior.
