Blade Runner 2049
Probably my favorite sequel of all time—not counting Empire Strikes Back or Godfather Pt 2, since they’re part of a trilogy. The vibes of this film and the first were unmatched. I really loved the big holographic billboards, and the cinematography was some of the best I’ve ever seen. I mean, just the colorways were beautiful.
One scene with incredible cinematography—aside from the snowy step scene at the end and the scene with the orange sky and remnants along the outskirts of Las Vegas—took place inside Las Vegas with the old casino games and holographic musicians. The fight sequence with Can’t Stop Falling in Love was just the cherry on top. I watched one Denis Villeneuve film, and now I need to check out Dune Part 1 and 2.
