Why can't it just be a chill father daughter vacation?
The first time you watch it, you see the film from Sophie's perspective, because you don't know what has happened and what is going on with her father.
But the second time around, you see the film from the perspective of the adult Sophie, and with the knowledge we have, the whole experience becomes even more intense and sad. I really liked this film the first time I saw it, but the second time around, I found it almost perfect.
Every scene is so carefully thought out, every shot fits, and every conversation feels so realistic and intimate. Wow!
