Chinatown

Think I’m gonna have to answer everything with “it’s Chinatown” from now on. Seriously, an amazing work of art. I think this is the second Polanski project I’ve seen and I think this is another 10/10. Jack Nicholson’s performance is out of this world, it just oozes charisma and self belief which is perfectly contrasted with how he is treated all the way down to the cut on his nose, it is brilliant. As a neo noir it subverts loads of core tropes and instead of it just being a murder mystery it became an uncovering of all the corruption and moral degradation taking place in old school LA and I absolutely loved that. My only wish was that fucking Lou prick getting his head blown off I know it’s purposeful but every scene with him in gets on my nerves in a special, special way.
