Smallville

Not at all bad but just didn’t really use anything it had to tell an actual compelling story  Still not bad just consistently frustratingly safe Not really anything crazy Pretty shallow characters unfortunately which is gna be why this just doesn’t work  You can’t go for a ‘British La Haine’ (which this is on paper and other than that not at all) and then have they shallow characters  But that’s just the same old same old with all these folks that like to try and replicate La Haine’s vibes  They all fall short there But what I found actually quite annoying about this was the pretty lifeless direction  It’s a debut which makes sense, but I was really hoping for it to use that low-budget filming style to have some real quick moments that make for interesting edit etc etc It has its moments with it, but otherwise it’s pretty bland which really could’ve saved this  Esp considering it relies SO much on good performances from its bland filming style  And they are sprinkled in here  But these actors can only do so much  They need more support from the edit tho than they’re getting which was sad to see as it would be a really easy fix and do some crazy good things for this Overall well worth a watch if you’re interested in this sort of style 3 guys in the city doing they’re side missions
