BEEF

A24 is now providing us series! Another good addition to Netflix. Anything Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, I'm in! The perfect leading pair! Strong acting performances where both bounced off well ea other. This was an easy watch but worth taking your time bc of the material. The writing was the biggest strength. Unique storytelling and very engaging. No spoonfeeding. Both funny and tragic. Both invested in the characters and stories. Most importantly, now THIS is how you write AAPI characters. So refreshing. Not in tht stereotypical box of AAPI experiences/storytelling or trying to seek for some sort of (western) validation. They're just living unapologetically without any (typical) Asianess attached. You already know they're AAPI unapologetically but not in a stereotypical way esp the way they present themselves and live their lives. Appreciated for a pre dominantly AAPI cast/team. Ali Wong is a genius. She truly can pull off comedy and drama. Ashley Park and Justin Min were both great additions to the series! Wonder what A24 will do next with series....
