Before Sunset
The best sequel to a trilogy. This is a good pre Paris watch. I made a realization that I've watched these films every three years. I think it's only the first two that you can watch separately on its own.
I remember when I got into this trilogy, I think I remember this was the most "memorable" for me. Just because of the tone of the early 2000s Paris in the summer. I think it's easy to think this could possibly the first film of the trilogy if you're not familiar.
I am so invested in Jesse and Celine's conversation and engagement. Time flies but you just want more from them. From Shakespeare and Company to the apartment. The whole movie was just pure charm and communication. In addition, the Europe setting and ambience!!! Hawke and Delpy were also involved the script so no wonder the writing felt so natural. My goodness, watching this film again (even tho we all know this) how much technology and social media ruined connections and relationships. It's not special anymore having access to people or putting effort into a person anymore.
I don't think some of yall understand how much I'm dying to experience my Before trilogy. Literally my one true wish. This is every literary hopeless romantic's dream. However, I am more of a hopeful romantic?
I can't imagine reconnecting with somebody like that after a decade. The way they're so chill and picked up where they left off. I kinda understand what typa "pain" people were trying to say after watching this film for this rewatch.
