“Well that’s the nicest thing that’s happened to me since my Dad got me my first pony.”
I want to watch something weird, and North of the Border offers that. I haven’t seen many westerns at all, and certainly none of this age and obscurity. I’m always down to try and expand my cinematic knowledge and venture into the unknown, and this is very much the unknown. I have zero expectations.
What a goofy little production. No need for the usual two paragraphs here, as North of the Border is the length of a TV show. Funny enough, I can’t complain much about the way the movie was made. I think the sets are fun and the outdoor stuff looks good. The costumes are maybe a little much but that’s fine. The story isn’t the greatest. North of the Border is as cookie cutter as they come. You can predict the entire movie as it goes and every line of dialogue feels more like the next step of a formula than something meant to keep you on your toes. The acting is B western material. It’s just a fun 42 minute movie, and I can’t say bad things about that. I may forget it over time, and I may not, but regardless I learn so much with these little flicks.
Also, I have never seen a man so casual about finding his best friend murdered before.
