The Lighthouse
*“Should pale death with treble dread
**
Make the ocean caves our bed,**
*
God who hear'st the surges roll,
Deign to save our suppliant soul.”

After watching Nosferatu (2024) I decided to revisit Eggers’ filmography. Last week I rewatched the Northman (2022) and today I decided to rewatch this masterpiece. This film is just pure insanity. The Lighthouse perfectly executes the physical and mental toll isolation can do to an individual. The deterioration along with the banter you witness between both Pattinson and Dafoe is absolutely mad and deranged and I absolutely love it. But all in all this film is genuinely perfect. Stunning visuals, mesmerizing sound design, and of course excellent performances. Robert Eggers is brilliant.
