The Northman
*“A life of death. Yet I swore to survive till this moment. Tomorrow, I shall finish my deeds in honour. Only then will I discover whether living is to my liking.”

This film is fucking epic. The Northman focuses heavily on themes such as revenge, murder, and predestination. And with the work of Robert Eggers, those themes are executed very well. This film has adequate action sequences, raw emotion, and strong performances all around. After watching Nosferatu (2024) I decided to revisit the rest of Eggers’ filmography and wanted to start with this one. This was the first film I discovered of his and it led me to finding one of my new favourite directors. I genuinely appreciate this film and his work so much.
