Perfect Days
For Fans Of: Lost In Translation / Clean public toilets
The film follows Hirayama, a toilet cleaner in Tokyo who has scrubbed clean more rims than your mother’s hairy knuckles. Hirayama is a man of routine, who can often find beauty and tranquility in the daily repetition, be it a quiet moment to sit and eat a sandwich in front of a tree he always photographs, or laying on his floor listening to some bomb-ass cassette tapes. There’s not a lot glitzy or exciting I can say about this film to sell you on it, other than to say it’s just a beautifully shot character journey with an ending that left me thinking about it for days. 5/5
