when brittany snow and kid cudi were doing a fleetwood mac cover i thought to myself "wait, this is supposed to be a horror film, right?" and that kind of sums up my thoughts on the film.
i actually enjoyed the domesticity and the friendship among the cast and crew of the porno so much that i didn't really want it to turn into a horror film. then when there was about 20 minutes left, it was full on horror and gore and the switch up felt like i was watching a completely different film.
i get why people like ti west, i like that he's doing something different, but same with house of the devil, i needed a lot more balance between the drama and the horror, not 80% of the film with nothing happening and 20% horror with an abrupt ending.
as much as i didn't like the pacing, every single actor in this was pretty incredible (jenna ortega you are going to take over the world), i loved the subversive take on the least sexually adventurousness people dying first and it was so exciting to see mia goth in a main role and she killed it!
i guess ti west's style just isn't for me though.
