Glad to see the dream works sequel luck still going with this film. Was it an improvement from the last film I would say slightly yes especially with the dynamic action, turned up cartoonish style, great humor balance with enough of a compelling story line. The wrestling scene by far was my favorite part of this all the fluid animation with all the colors flying around it just seemed all great and enjoyable for the eyes…. The only big big downside was the music in this part and many more I feel like a big drawback was the obnoxious choice of popular radio music in a lot of these exciting moments that just made me want to put it on mute until the songs were over to enjoy what was going on. I definitely think that without that music it would’ve boosted this movie much more for me I enjoyed the story of redemption for these guys we continue to see their progress from before trying to turn good and how your reputation can really affect how people see you even if you try to change having mistakes in the past that people are aware of will make them look at you differently they will have more of a guard up regardless of how you are now. It’s easier to get by when you have it all hidden in your past you can start over people will see you as whoever you introduce yourself as and it’s easier to keep up the facade. But bottom line people can change it’s not always easy black and white you are either good or bad it’s more complex you can do bad for a good reason and you can do good for a bad reason at the end of the day only you know who you really are.

I really wanted to like this movie a not too long hostage situation with Jason Segel and Jesse plemons how could this go wrong. Wellll let’s just say apart from some interesting shots and a very enjoyable score it’s a huge snooze i expected more character growth or even fleshing out the characters more with each others differences but it all just felt super meh. It didn’t even feel like a thriller at all the fact that the poor working class man had to die all over the actions from the tech billionaire definitely felt like a choice to emphasize the fact that his selfish actions have no punishment for him it’s the classes below him that keep taking the hit. Overall I didn’t feel much with this film as a experience or social commentary

This movie just felt like a movie inspired by prisoners but instead of being an engaging tense masterpiece about taking matter into your own hands to protect your child( obv. There is more depth to it this is just a summary) but instead just makes an insufferable family dealing with grief and taking it out on an innocent man. It surprises me that the daughter is more emotionally mature to understand that her dad died and there was nothing he could do about it, while the mom is over here angry at him for dying for leaving them alone for not fighting the illness he had which is a trait of processing grief especially for a significant other. Then ofc Santiago doesn’t help his case by being this trippy hippie that might’ve felt some guilt for helping the husband accept death that he is being very vague and secretive about his drug and therapeutic rituals he does for people which just makes these people already in a stressful situation lash out at the scapegoat they have. I understand the metaphor of her being like a animal trying to protect her daughter and not being able to be reasoned with but it’s absolutely psychotic they just accused and gaslight themselves into yup this weird guy took my daughter and you can’t convince me otherwise it’s frustrating for sure plus your telling me the mom needed to go thru this to now magically be ok with her husband being dead and the brother in law doesn’t even apologize at all he leaves him there ashamed of his actions all they did was stress each other out more while being frantic 😭

A classic tale we have seen countless times the entrepreneur biopic, I loved the mockumentry style this had literally having it at the beginning looking like the people were breaking the fourth wall. Doug being this transcendent celestial being throughout the story literally not aging or changing any way of appearance I thought it was so funny especially seeing as he was the director for this. I loved the story of the blackberry obviously predating my time but I do remember using one when I was young and seeing them around the fact that Mike was just a noble humble nerd trying to make history but you won’t make it in a treacherous market being so noble when everyone is trying to use, lie, cheat, and screw over each other for monetary gain. You have to stoop to that level in order to make it in the world that’s where Jim comes in he has the presence the aura needed to lie and manipulate his way to get what he wants and it’s exactly what blackberry needed to get where it got only downside is once you let that parasite in it will do anything to consume it whole. The fact that Mike slowly started turning into Jim seeing that the change was needed in order to succeed it sucks working with friends cause you just want to mess around have fun but you also got to be able to lock in and it’s hard to have to be the boss of your friends as you could see Doug and mikes friendship broke he completely went against what he believed it. Doug being the angel on his shoulder trying to remind him of his values and beliefs a symbol of how it all started , then Jim being the devil telling him to have a ego to turn against his values outsource the work lie about products be unapologetic. In the end it all came to bite jim in the ass and Mike got a reality check on what was really going on in his company he had it all created a market that didn’t exist before the click but like all great technological advancements another one comes to take the flame right from under you if you can’t keep up you’ll crash as fast as you flew up.
