Frankenstein
This movie has been a project I’ve been excited since it’s announcement with Andrew Garfield as the creature to then Jacob being cast I had faith this could be great and I really enjoyed it all the way thru. The issues victor faced with such a caring mother figure to him how his dad was abusive for his “stupidity” and always despised victor and showed how little he cared for his wife to even kill her off while she was birthing her son. From victor telling his father “are you saying you Leopold Frankenstein made a mistake” and telling him how he will surpass and cheat death itself. To him finally doing it creating the creature his “son” per say and him kinda having similar traits to his dad him getting extremely angry at the creature calling it stupid like if he was a failure not caring for it treating it with no tenderness or compassion at all just violence hitting it for not doing what he demanded. To Elizabeth being that mother figure to the creature treating with such tenderness and care actually seeing the innocence that it has the careless wonder it has for this new world being introduced to it and she tries to understand it be gentle with it. Her telling victor “you the victor Frankenstein made a mistake” showing that it came back the same remark that he used for his father but him in the ass cause he is not as perfect as he thinks he isn’t this victim he plays out to be if not more of a narcissist only worrying about his work trying to play god without care and in turn being the real monster of the story. Jacob’s performance as the creature was definitely magnificent his eyes his way of moving all felt perfect really brought the sort of compassion the character needed the innocence of learning of feeling alone and neglected wanting some to be part of a family wanting to know why he was brought into this world his reason for existing the creatures story was my favorite part and definitely made me emotional the most. The way he even said the only way you can ever listen is if I hurt you just like how Leopold hurt Victor and how Victor hurt the creature so that he will listen it’s what he learned such a good story and great adaptation in my eyes. Lastly William idk I hated the actor I would get annoyed seeing him lowkey 😭
