Funny games ofc I had to watch the original I will watch the 2007 remake eventually even if it’s just a shot for shot recreation in English. What a incredibly uncomfortable movie from the framework in some of the shots leaving the viewer just as in the dark as the character with its surroundings, to showing a lot of the big shot violence and nudity off view it shows big deaths and the strip scene without really giving it all to you. The fourth wall breaks are essentially especially for the message it’s trying to convey the criticism of the glorification of violence in media, it makes you sit there knowing all the troupes for a thriller home invasion movie and using it against you making you think there might be a turning point for the final girl just to immediately take it back and not even give you a final girl Ana dies too after all her struggle it was for nothing. A lot of scenes with just silence making you have to just watch dwell in what just happened dwell in what you have been watching it made for a compelling runtime. It doesn’t help he is criticizing me cause I kinda laughed when I saw the kid got splattered and the constant manipulation tubby and Paul do is so irritating it will frustrate you the especially even in German I could feel the condescending tone in everything they said which ofc makes you hate them as good antagonists. George senior was such a coward and shoutout Ana literally picking this man up and being the only one to stand up to Beavus and Butthead all the way till the end.
