The Lobster
My favorite quote from this film was "It is more difficult to pretend you do have feelings when you don't, than to pretend you don't have feelings when you do."Overall the movie showing how society has pushed it onto us on why it’s wrong to be single and exaggerating it to the point that if you are single you are forced to find a partner in order to live in “the city” and if you fail you turn into a animal. The ways it questions on whether it is love or acceptance that you are willing to go as far as to fake common interest just to not end up as a animal or a outcast given the common grounds were more superficial in the film it’s still seen in reality how people will pretend to be someone to attract others. The dialogue felt so monotone the whole time giving such an uncomfortable feeling throughout at least for me which i enjoyed it made for some really funny moment. It also felt like when they blinded his love interest to take away their near sighted similarity she told her why didn’t you blind him instead kinda showing some selfishness in her so called love with David as she would rather he got hurt then her which parallels great with the ending when he is looking at himself in the mirror with the knife contemplating on blinding himself to have a similarity and prove is there love will he take the bullet for her or will he choose himself like the hotel managers husband did when he attempted to shoot her to save his ass.
