Sing Sing
i think the last time i felt this way was when i watched station eleven—that mental embrace, a reminder of what it means to be human. why we keep going, why we resist, why we turn to art, why we crave touch, desperately so. sing sing turned out to be the dark horse of this awards season for me. i went in expecting strong performances, but it became something else entirely. watching it with no prior knowledge made the experience almost divine. what can i say? the theatre kid in me will never die, and films like sing sing don’t just keep it alive—they remind me why it existed in the first place.
