Red Rooms
Hyper-frigid voyeurism in the age of digital decay. Red Rooms is the perfect pond to reflect the modern landscape of the internet. A movie that is so vividly present in the actualities of our time. Never feeling dated or try hard. A movie that minces morality with the casualties of desensitization and the inevitably slippery slope of online anonymity.
Impossible to think of a picture that gets it more right than this one. Gariépy and Babin play so well together under Plante’s direction as well. This always has plenty of room to breathe while being suffocating to observe as a bystander.
