Boogie Nights

“We're about to make film history, right here... on videotape.” An exemplary and sensational ballad of a lost young man who navigates his way through life, questioning his authority and status in the world, by gaining fame from the adult film industry. Filled with excellent characters centered around Eddie Adams turned Dirk Diggler, they all have their own stories and own importance to this film. Filled with ups and downs, we overall see a tremendous growth at the end, paired with a happy ending for every one of the star players, which is quite rare in films like these, with high stakes and corruption. Hard to believe PTA made this groovy, 70’s gem at just the age of 26, early on showing his importance and contribution to Hollywood, and still having that longing effect with what some people say is his magnum opus, that being the incredible One Battle After Another. Overall, this is defiantly my favorite from his filmography, and I’m so glad I revisited this. Holds up all too well. A desirable must-watch.
