Apple & Onion
The premise sounds aggressively stupid—and that's precisely why it works.
Apple and Onion's friendship is the show's secret sauce: they're naïve, overly enthusiastic, occasionally dumb as rocks, but genuinely there for each other. Then you've got a supporting cast of walking food items who can turn an ordinary errand into a full-scale existential crisis. The comedy is wonderfully weird, although some episodes lean so hard into randomness that the joke can evaporate before the episode does. Still, beneath the nonsense is a surprisingly warm little show about friendship, growing up, and figuring out city life. Two vegetables? Technically one fruit and one vegetable. The chemistry? Michelin-starred.
