SpongeBob SquarePants
This yellow motherfucker has survived presidents, streaming wars, memes, TikTok, and at least three generations insisting, "It fell off." Respectfully... some of y'all are remembering your childhood, not the actual episode list.
The early seasons absolutely deserve their legendary status, but let's not rewrite history into "every episode was a masterpiece sent directly from heaven." They weren't. There were weaker stories back then too—they just shared shelves with Band Geeks, Chocolate with Nuts, and Pizza Delivery. Meanwhile, modern SpongeBob gets treated like it poisoned the town well whenever it experiments with louder animation or weirder comedy. Sure, some episodes overcook the slapstick until it turns into sensory overload, but others are creative as hell and visually ambitious in ways the original series never attempted. Bikini Bottom has changed, not died. Bitch, nostalgia is a terrible film critic.
