Batman Returns

Burton further realizes his vision of Gotham in this movie, having it to do with Penguin’s mayoral campaign and then turning on Batman was a good way to go as it gives the city more personality. The plot kinda drags around the middle and some of the interactions are very weird and out of place but it’s fun enough I was thinking about how perfectly casted Devito was as the Penguin the entire movie but Pfeiffer’s performance was one of my favorites. It’s so wild and so goofy, feels like it could come straight from the pages of a comic book. It even has my favorite Batman trope of thugs that are WAY too committed to the aesthetic of whoever they’re following which Batman ‘89 just did not have. This movie is just two hours of Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Christopher Walken hamming it up on awesome sets and it’s incredible. Found it a little odd that they went with circus villains mostly made up of clowns right after the movie with the clown as the main villain but 🤷🏽‍♂️ the little skull bois on motorcycles are dope.  Plus it’s a Christmas movie!!!
