this was watched for the Letterboxd Stats challenge heartbreaking and hard to watch. Tilikum died about 4 years after this released, and he was still in captivity. that fact fucking broke me. he was treated like shit his entire captivity and died there. how fucking horrific. the trainers loved Tilikum but that was not enough. you can love the animal all you want but that won't save them. these orcas are tortured. they are in a legitimate prison. listening to orcas grieve and cry is devastating. they have their loved ones taken from them, they are stuck with other orcas who they cannot escape if they don't like each other! they are basically forced to fight each other at that point. fuck SeaWorld. the fact it's still open is abominable. the fact people still go is appalling. this should be a required watch for when you want to buy tickets to SeaWorld. jesus h christ. side note, since when was Shamu a girl.....i'm sorry queen i was unaware
