Paris Is Burning

this was watched for Get That Backlog Under Control 2026 queer people have always existed. i could listen to the people in this doc talk forever, tell stories and just live. they will try to destroy us but we are eternal. we are in art and music and spoken word. community is everything and i'm so grateful for the queer community. i also learned a lot about ball culture that i didn't know before. essential queer history watch. essential watch in general and i'm ashamed it took me this long. a lot of the people in this doc have died, all too soon. but they will remain legendary. rest in absolute peace, venus xtravaganza. eternally beautiful and taken from the world so horrifically. she deserved to get her sex change and get married and achieve everything she wanted :( everyone deserves to be seen and to be loved.
