Dune
its a shame that duncan (one of the most badass characters in dune) sacrificed himself im sure we'll never see more of him again..... iykyk
rewatching the denis dune movies today since i finished the book and you really start to realize more about how denis sets things up for part two and hints at part of the arrakis lore that either isn't explained until two or even the books. near perfect adaptation of the first half of the book, although I feel like kynes has a better overarching presence in the book and yeuh knowing his wife is already dead is portrayed better in the book. here it kinda feel like it comes out of nowhere but the books flat out tells you from almost the start and it’s building up to the eventual betrayal.
the visuals still hold up as well as i remember but the pacing can feel a little off. makes sense though when you realize this is only half of the first book and still needs to take time to show the vast lore of arrakis/bene gesserit/the great houses/etc.
