Beautiful Boy
One of The best addiction movie ever
I feel films about addiction are films that break bounds like no other
I’ve watched multiple that are up there with some of the best films I’ve ever watched Shame A good person A house that jack built (in a way)
This is up there yet again.
The realism of this movie is harrowing Chalemet provides his best performance of his career so far to show us how addiction can change everything about a person.
Carell also does so as well with his performance being up there with little miss sunshine. He has to be one of the most well ranged actors.
All the over cast members get plaudits too as they are brilliant also
The story itself is similar to that of trainspotting with its circular narrative but the fact this film ignores any happiness at all helps it’s so much the writing is just spot on
The cinematography is great at providing emotion and also beauty as does the lighting also
A great score helps to set tone
A film that will be added into my top 20 100%
