Boyhood
The most realistic film ever made and by god is it good
I will firstly say how this casting is perfect Hawke and Coltrane are near identical and have an amazing chemistry and the whole family does so in fact.
All the character have great progression and complete perfect arcs.
But this film does something so unique and that’s the 12 year filming. We watch as the actors grow with there characters and its phenomenal.
This film is perfect for the fact that it shows life so perfectly. Every person who watches this will relate to it.
The darkness of this film is also really perfect. Shows how alcohol can ruin family’s and create monsters.
The 2h 47m runtime goes in a flash almost reflecting how life itself runs making this a fun experience and not boring whatsoever.
This film doesn’t need to show any hard dramatic plot points or add action because it’s showing how life runs. This is a study of family’s and by god the director nails it.
The performance are phenomenal from all even the kid actors who play there ages to a tee.
But my personal favourite thing of this film is the killer soundtrack. Yellow, Band on the run, somebody I used to know some of the best songs ever written all make appearances.
The mood of this film is so mixed it’s great it shows how life changes all the time from one minute your in a rough spot then your graduating in a happy life.
What a movie pure perfection and definitely one that’ll become a classic in 10-20 years from now unbelievable
