The Shining

Truly a perfect movie. everything from the editing to cinematography is phenomenal, but what really takes the cake I think is the acting. Jack Nicholson was so good in his role it was almost kinda concerning lol, his performance really feels like something that’s never been done before and will never be done again because of how unique and impressive it was. And Shelley Duvall was a great protagonist, her acting really complimented jacks performance, her distress came across as so realistic it made the movie much more terrifying, she did a fantastic job at playing someone who’s very timid but is also very resourceful and makes smart decisions, it makes you really feel for her. I’m most impressed by Danny though because being eight and holding your own against jack nicholson is crazy, and he didn’t even have as many lines as Shelley and Jack but he did such a good job with his facial expressions. This movie is so timeless I feel like it’s still gonna be a relevant work of art 500 years from now like how Shakespeare is for us.
