Chernobyl
Literally my favorite miniseries ever.
I admire the historical accuracy, transparency, and commitment to the truth. It’s very rare that a piece of media holds brutally true to real life events, and Chernobyl is no exception. When it comes to the depiction of the USSR and it’s subsequent corruption, the writing and formulation of characters and politics reigns above all.
Between the scope of Soviet Russia and its flawed approach towards compensation, and the efforts of dedicated scientists, the nuclear disaster and its consequences are fleshed out to the fullest.
The cost of lies is what truly remains predominant, and the lives exchanged as a result serve as a reminder of human vulnerability and loss.
