Dune

I don't think a better introduction and set-up could have been made for this adaptation series. Laying the foundation for the look and feel of what sets it apart from other sci-fi worlds, the houses and politics, even the way that much of the bigger picture is deeply rooted in the Fremen culture and Paul's ramping significance in the story. For me, I'd dare say that aided with advancements in filmmaking, it surpasses the likes of Star Wars on the basis of transporting the viewer into its fantasy. Bring on Dune: Part Two.
