The Thing

Going in relatively blind and only now reading up on the largely negative reception when The Thing was first released >>> This film is INCREDIBLE at showcasing utmost paranoia and meticulous interactions between characters. Kurt Russell's performance, the set design, score, camerawork, everything fits intricately, and it's nothing short of a thrilling and speculative masterpiece on the basis of human distrust. Some might think the graphic depictions of the alien and gore as excessive, but it's proven itself over the years as a complete achievement in special effects and horror design.
