Arrival

It took me a while to watch this film since I’d heard a hundred times “it’s just slow”, but I feel I have a different definition to slow personally. I thought the pacing was amazing, the story had me so fully immersed that this film felt more like one hour than two, and the slow unfolding of the plot was completely worth it.  I was already sold when it had me tearing up in the first 3 minutes. This film reminded me slightly of Interstellar in the sense that underneath all the mystery and sci-fi elements, the real underlying message is about love and relationships and humanity. I love that a genre (sci-fi) that could be considered really cold can turn out some of the most warm and human moments.
