Superman
SO MANY SPOILS IF UR CONNOR DO NOT READ UNTIL YOUVE SEEN IT

i have never been a DC fan so it’s a big thing that i enjoyed this movie so much. The soundtrack was phenomenal. ending with Punckrocker was amazing. their little jokes about who is more punch rock than the other was so silly. but i do agree with Clark on this. it’s way more punk rock to love and care for everyone than it’s is to just question everything.
i was worried in the beginning that the romance would take up too much of the movie but it didn’t. it was just the cherry on top. David Corenswet was a phenomenal Superman Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane was amazing—considering the fact that i’m no big DC fan. Their fight during their intimate interview was so heartfelt.
“I wasn’t representing anybody except for me, and doing good.”
AND the conversation with his real father who is telling him how proud he is of him. Because of all things Clark could have taken his bio parents message as, he took it as a sign to be a good person. he thought his parents wanted him to help and be kind. "Parents aren’t here to tell their children who they’re supposed to be. Your choices. Your actions. That's what makes you who you are." and then he tells Clark how proud he is and i about died.
the whole monologue between Lex Luthor and Superman was INSANE. Lex is so human in the fact that he’s envious of Superman. he’s envious of all the love superman has received, that earthans just need him to swoop in and save the day. He wants that love and that power. But the fact that he knows his envy deals the deal. that’s what makes him a villain. he’s so aware but he’s so envious anyways and uses that to fight for what he wants. “I'm aware that envy consumes my every waking moment. I know when they mention Galileo or Einstein or one of these other twits in the same breath as me, I feel a tide of vomit burn the back of my throat! But at least Galileo did something.” and the part near the end of his bit where he says, “So, my envy is a calling! It is the sole hope for humanity, because it is what has driven me to annihilate you!” Envy is power but and ever consuming one.
And Superman counters with even better points. telling Lex that he could have been good. telling him, “I'm as human as anyone. I love, I get scared. I wake up every morning and despite not knowing what to do, I put one foot in front of the other and I try to make the best choices I can. I screw up all the time, but that is being human. And that's my greatest strength.” if i remember correctly he tells Lex that it could have been that way for him too. it’s just so powerful.
being human is so simple. it’s just getting up and doing the best you can just one foot in front of the other like he says. and if you can’t always do that, it’s okay. there’s tomorrow and the day after and the day after that. we’ll make mistakes, lots of them, but we have the chance to get up and fix that. thats what’s so good about being human. you have the chance to change the world.
also Nicholas Holt was HAWT. SO WAS DAVID CORENSWET AND RACHEL BROSNAHAN AND HOLY MOLY??? ANGELA SPICA AS THE ENGINEER??? *I COULD HAVE DIED THE CAST WAS SO HOT AND THEY DID SO GOOD???*
enjoy some word vomit slop:
i’ve had this conversation so many times since watching this today. since Barbenheimer, the reboot of Hollywood began. Hollywood saw our putrid hate for corporate SLOP and has been on the rise. So many notable films have led up to this. Notably: Barbenheimer, Across the Spiderverse, Nosferatu, The Substance, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, The Wild Robot, F1: The Movie, Sinners, the live action How to Train Your Dragon and so so many more. Even silly flicks like Fall Guy.
its all led up to now. I saw F1 just last week which had me on the edge of my seat. Across the Spiderverse had me in the theatre at least 5 times before it was released and i even found it online to watch before its release. they saw what we wanted and they’re giving it to us.
I’m excited to see Fantastic 4, Materialists, One Battle After Another, and so many more.
*I'm listening to the music with no fear,
You can hear it too if your sincere...
Coz I'm a punk rocker yes I am.
Well I'm a punk rocker yes I am.
Coz I'm a punk rocker yes I am.
Well I'm a punk rocker yes I am.
I see you stagger in the street, And you can't stay on your feet.
And your faking in your sleep, You wish that you were deep.
You can't hear me laughing to myself,
If you could you would be someone else.*
