Dune
Actual dream in film form. Magnificent adaptation and portrayal of the powers that illicit fear into all.
I can step into Arakis like a lucid trip where I fall in love with a girl and the deep rich lore of a world, waking up longing it back, for the sand where messages from the deep philosophisize into the grains of my mind.
The themes of fate, politics and free will are deconstructed creatively, in its serene visuals, tribal cerebral audio, poignant writing and jaw dropping action.
Dune 2's tease in this IMAX showing has me itching for more. Blown away again, by this beyond sci-fi masterclass of cinema. Makes me want to read the book again, can't believe they could even adapt it in the first place.
Everything from the technical design of each vehicle, ship, costume to the genuine love portrayed through this film is insane; It is a worthy successor to that rich world it depicts. It remains detailed yet keeping that necessary charcter focused narrative. The grand atmosphere created is truly what reading the book feels like and inspires within you.
Please let him make messiah so he can turn Timmy into a blind sandworm as a captialistic, cathartic metaphor of consumption.
