Spider-Man
Choose the man you want to be. Whether it is a gift or a curse, the power to choose moral principle over the tragic, corporate, individual evil in the world, is what makes you a good man. Spider-Man gives mythical, comic book power to a natural, emotional story. The high school antics, the core relationships, and MJ give Peter a reason to be better than the men who treat her so badly. This naturalism builds the action into an out-of-the-comic-strip-into-the-screen feel.
The Jekyll and Hyde, peak villainous performance of Green Goblin as Willem Dafoe is so vulnerable, scary, and absurd. His company is going to face closure, so he uses power to harness the deepest capacity for individual greed to get his power back. He is forced out of his role as CEO into the role of a terrorist. He is the inverse of Peter, using his problem and power to destroy what is left.
The hole Uncle Ben leaves makes Peter realize every little decision makes up who you are. I forgot the part where that's my problem. Forgetting your principles and allowing the corrupt world to continue, altering your conscience, affects society as a whole. That's what Spider-Man does; he represents the conscious chance to help others despite the hate they may give to you. Hope that this belief has ground to fly. "You hurt him, you hurt all of us." A single decision, man, a choice can affect society. The power to choose to turn the other cheek or beat your opposition lies in all of us.
Spider-Man gives society the moral power to stop crime and corruption by a web that stops the action. Rehabilitation, understanding, and retribution through a decision. MJ drives Peter down the path of becoming a greater man. A true spectacle and necessary myth for the modern world. The cartoonish tone meets real-life tropes for a human, genius story. You can choose both, the few and the many, by not letting hate into your heart. One person can affect everyone, the few represent many. If everyone was treated respectfully and personally, many could be saved from random crime and killing.
A film of great powers in a terrific drama that filled me with a reinstilled responsibility in individual actions that amalgamate societally. It is my problem, which is why I can help you, by stopping it from occurring in the first place. Never forget who you are, or let that corrupt you. A spider gives man responsibility. To have awareness of the world and have the strength to fight that which corrupts it. Spiderman becomes an almost religious figure, instilling the moral philosophy, that with any power comes responsibility; spearheading it to comic, action greatness. Spiderman builds the collective conscious of a generation.
